Glory of the Ulduar Raider, complete!

After a few nights trying Yogg-Saron with only 1 light in the darkness, we finally spanked that motherfucker and nailed it. Still 0 lights to go, but this is good for now.

Great job from the guys who stuck at this over the last 2 nights - well deserved achievement in the end.

With 1 Light in the Darkness down our first group of guys aquired the Glory of the Ulduar Raider reward, the Rusted Proto-Drake, grats to them and more to come!

With the instance cleared and Algalon waiting, we had no choice but to take a trip to his place for some fun..

With some players having to leave, we only took a couple of screenies and had a try for fun. It looks like a great encounter and is sure to be fun. We look forward to downing this soon.

Hard Mode Progress!

Focussing on hard modes recently, we have managed to nail a few more..

Heartbreaker went down after a while - kinda slow as far as server progress was concerned with this one, but its been taken care of now and we moved on to Ignis to quickly add Stokin' the Furnace to our Heroic:Glory of the Ulduar Raider list.

Back to Thorim we got our best result of the week as we nailed the hardmode and picked up a couple of other achievements along with it.

Hard Mode Progress!

So Yogg-Saron is down, hard modes can begin.. Having taken Flame Leviathon down with 3 towers (all 4 to come soon!) and grabbing a server 3rd along with it, it was time to take on Hodir..

Its fair to say his cache was rare, as he was sent packing back home to Bel-air! Hodir down and loots out to the crew, its onto Thorim next, after already having a few good tries he should be down soon enough.

With 10man hard modes going very well, we should see people on the rusted drakes anytime soon also!

Yogg-Saron down.... finally!

So it took like 2 years but Yogg-Saron finally bit the dust..

Many, many tries after the first we finally nailed Yogg-Saron, it took us far longer than planned due to many unfortunate guild related curcumstances, but it all worked out in the end!

Grats to all the guys in the guild and raids who put in the time to get the bitch down, loot out to all the cool people, they know who they are!

General Vezax down - onto Yogg-Saron..!

Vezax down after a few good tries and a couple of tries on Yogg-Saron also, time for a night of checking tactics properly before the final push tomorrow!

Mimiron down!

Mimiron down - loots taken..

So after a few hours trying we managed to kill Mimiron to take ourselves past another boss and onto General Vezax, also 1 step closer to Yogg-Saron.

Ignis got spanked.. a pretty simple fight overall and with the nurfs, pretty easy :)

Gratz to people in the guild and raids helping us kill the stuff around here, next week we hope to clear the instance.

We look forward to pushing past Mimiron/Vezax and onto Yogg-saron on the nxt reset.

Another day, Another death..

So, after another day in Ulduar, we managed to dispose of Freya with fairly minimal effort.

Onto Ignis we went after to take him down after the hot-fixes.. this didn't quite go to plan though and for various reasons we didn't down him.

Back into Ulduar soon to finish Ignis and move onto Mimiron and hopefully General Vezax and Yogg-Saron also!

9 bosses down! (ok, so its 8 in 25 man..)

Since the patch 3.1 hit us on the 15th we have been raiding hard to bring some more exciting news, and also push for good server progress. I'm not sure how exciting this news is (though its gonna be a big one), but progress is going well!

After only a few minutes in Ulduar we managed to 1-shot the first boss, Flame Leviathon without too many issues, it seems he is terribly easy - bring on the hard modes!

Onto Razorscale next - which in the massive excitement(!), noone remembered to get a killshot of, anyway, he died.

The Deconstructor posed a little bit of an issue for us since apparently the months or boredom in naxx/previous content had turned a certain amount of members into complete retards. We did however manage to bring him down after a couple of hours trying.

The Iron Council and Kologarn were also downed with relative ease after some tries. screenshots of all boss kills can be found in the Hall of Fame.

Auriaya, the crazy cat lady took some time to get right since the pull was apparently a bitch. However, she was downed after a long night to bring home the loot.

Moving quickly on, we also burned through Thorim after a few attempts at geting the gauntlet part right and hodir when people learned how to 'GET ON THE FUCKING PILE OF SNOW'.

Gratz to all in the guild and raids on pulling together and raiding hard to get where we are, we look forward to taking on Freya next and pushing forward to clearing the instance!

3 Drakes down! ..again.

Ok, so we figured we may aswell nail the 10man version too (said to be the current hardest encounter in game). Considering we had hardly tried it (roughly 25 hours spent trying) we managed to take Sartharion down with all drakes alive tonight to claim the real final boss-kill before Ulduar.

Great job to the guys in the raid - perhaps not the set-up others would have used, we decided to go with 3 healers, 3 tanks and 4 dps but produced the goods in the end.

In other news, we finally got The Undying - Better late than never i guess.. gratz on those in the raid group.

Time to polish off the remaining Glory of the Raider and Heroic: Glory of the Raider achievements before patch 3.1 and Ulduar goes live.

3 Drakes down!

Ok, the last task for us really in WotLK was Sartharion +3 Drakes, we finally achieved it after roughly 10 hours in the 25 man instance trying.

Great job by all in the raid and it just goes to show what happens when all 25 raid members can actually stay out of the fire!

Of course, we managed to get our first drake out of this kill and it went to daluna, so grats on that and im sure we will get another next week..

Malygos 25man down!

Ok, so it took a fair few tries and a lot of repairs but Malygos:Heroic is finally killed, big grats to all in the raid after really pulling out all the stops and bringing us a near perfect kill.

So, time to farm some gear before the next content patch comes out. GG to all in the guild, great job over the past couple of weeks!

Naxxramas 25man Clear!

An awesome week of raiding for Almost Famous as we managed to clear 25man Naxx.

Great work by the guys in the guild, tight teamwork all round meant we downed nearly all bosses after just a couple of tries, Thaddius caused us the most problems by far with Kel'Thuzad possibly being one of the more dissapointing fights, having killed him on 1st try in both 10 and 25 man raid instances.

Sapphiron downed after only 1 try, a great try by the guys in the raid and a textbook kill with no deaths.

Anyway, nice work and grats on all loot.. onwards we go..

So.. with Kel'Thuzad down and Naxx clear there is just Malygos to go.. but he can wait for next week!

Sartharion 25man Down!

So, after a great first week nuking through Naxx10 we managed to get enough to lvl 80 to start running the 25 man raids.

The Obsidian Sanctum was first on the list and we quickly disposed of Sartharion, 0 drakes kept alive for easy loot on the first try, grats to every1 in the raid.

Onto Naxx25 we go!
